I am selfish, and I am proud of it. Are you?Let’s find out…
Insight #15
I did not grow in life and could not take care of others until I became selfish.
Let me explain.
Many people shy away from it, but it’s not always a negative quality.
Being selfish isn’t about neglecting others, it’s about prioritizing self-care and ensuring you are in the best position to help those around you.
In my journey, there was a time I spread myself too thin, trying to be everything for everyone.
It led to burnout and dissatisfaction. It was only when I started prioritizing my own needs—my health, growth, and well-being—that I could better support and care for others.
By being ‘selfish’, I don’t mean being inconsiderate or self-centered.
It’s about making sure that my cup is full before pouring into others’.
This shift in mindset not only allowed me to be a better leader and a more present family member, but also brought more clarity and purpose to my work.
P.S: If you are not selfish, you are fooling yourself and others.
Have you ever thought about how prioritizing your own needs could improve your life and work?
