Is resilience something we’re born with—or is it something we build?

Is resilience something we’re born with—or is it something we build?

Insight #46

For me, resilience wasn’t just “there.” It was built, piece by piece, through the obstacles I faced—both in life and in my career.

I remember struggling to learn English. My early education didn’t equip me well, and it was a constant uphill battle.

Then, as a lawyer, I faced another challenge. I was technically sound but not commercially savvy. I didn’t know how to sell, how to communicate effectively, or how to connect with people.

These weren’t just professional hurdles—they were personal ones.

I had to work much harder than many around me, and overcoming these hurdles became the foundation of my resilience.

Every struggle, every uncomfortable moment pushed me to grow, making me stronger and more resilient than I ever thought I could be.

After all, resilience isn’t just about holding strong, it’s about learning, adapting, and coming back stronger each time we fall.

So, what about you? Where do you trace your resilience? Childhood challenges, a tough environment, or moments that truly tested you!

I’d love to hear your story.
